IMO-EA Launches Vision 100: A Strategic Roadmap for Growth, Inclusion and Impact in East Africa

The International Memon Organization – East Africa (IMO-EA) has formally unveiled Vision 100, a comprehensive and forward-looking roadmap designed to guide community development, entrepreneurship, and socio-economic transformation over the long term. The launch event, held in Nairobi, marked a significant milestone for the organization and highlighted the growing role of structured community-led initiatives in national and regional development. Shahid Yakub, Vice President of IMO East Africa and the principal architect of Vision 100, presented the vision and strategic framework underpinning the initiative. In his address, he emphasized that Vision 100 is built on the foundations of ethical enterprise, intergenerational responsibility, and measurable impact. He outlined key pillars focusing on economic empowerment, youth and skills development, trade and investment facilitation, health, education, and sustainable community institutions. Speaking on the global outlook of the organization, Shemir Yakub, the Global Deputy President of the International Memon Organization, highlighted the importance of aligning local initiatives with global best practices. He underscored IMO’s commitment to fostering collaboration between diaspora networks, local entrepreneurs, and international partners, positioning Vision 100 as a model for scalable, community-driven development. Hon. Aden Duale, Cabinet Secretary for Health in Kenya, addressed the gathering on the importance of strong community institutions in supporting national development goals. He noted that initiatives such as Vision 100 complement government efforts by promoting social cohesion, health awareness, and economic resilience at the grassroots level, while encouraging private-sector participation in public good. The event’s Chief Guest, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, delivered the keynote address. He lauded IMO-EA’s structured and long-term approach, emphasizing the strategic role of diaspora engagement, trade diplomacy, and investment-led growth in Kenya’s foreign policy and economic agenda. He encouraged partnerships between community organizations, government, and the private sector to unlock new opportunities for regional and international collaboration.
