Nigerian autonomous security startup Terrahaptix has raised an additional US$22 million in a funding round led by Lux Capital and Resilience17 Capital, the latter founded by Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola. The latest investment follows an earlier US$11.8 million raise, strengthening the company’s capital base as it accelerates the manufacturing and deployment of autonomous drones and AI-powered security systems across the continent. Terrahaptix focuses on providing advanced surveillance and infrastructure protection solutions tailored for high-risk environments, including energy installations, logistics corridors, telecommunications infrastructure, and border security operations. The company’s expansion strategy includes scaling local production capabilities and improving operational readiness across multiple African markets. The new funding signals increasing global investor confidence in Africa’s deep-tech and hardware innovation ecosystem — particularly in sectors linked to security, resilience, and critical infrastructure protection. As infrastructure development accelerates across Africa — from energy projects to transport corridors — demand for smart monitoring, autonomous systems, and digital security tools is expected to rise sharply. Terrahaptix is positioning itself as a continental player in this emerging segment.
