Kenya and Armenia Explore Bilateral Tech Cooperation to Advance Youth Digital Skills, AI, and Cloud Infrastructure

Kenya’s digital transformation roadmap gained fresh international momentum following high-level bilateral consultations between the State Department for ICT and Digital Economy and the Republic of Armenia. Hosted by Principal Secretary Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, CBS, the engagement with Armenian Ambassador Sahak Sargsyan evaluated structured framework opportunities spanning cloud computing architectures, artificial intelligence deployment, enterprise STEM education, and bilateral trade.

A central focus of the discussions was youth digital empowerment and institutional capacity building. Delegations identified direct operational synergies between Armenia’s TUMO Centres for Creative Technologies—a global model for self-directed learning in tech and design—and Kenya’s nationwide network of Jitume Digital Hubs. Both nations are preparing to explore joint initiatives, including shared learning curricula, virtual mentorship models, and implementation exchanges to enhance digital literacy and software engineering capabilities among youth.

The bilateral dialogue also emphasized technical knowledge-transfer within STEM education frameworks and cloud infrastructure development. As Kenya advances its national digital superhighway and regional data hub status, aligning with emerging tech hubs like Armenia provides a peer-learning channel for policy formulation, cloud security standards, and AI integration. Technical working groups are expected to formulate concrete bilateral implementation programs over the coming months.
