Drought Deepens Across Kenya as Majmuatul Khairat Mobilises Ramadan Food Support

Kenya’s drought crisis has intensified, with prolonged dry conditions now affecting at least 23 counties and leaving over 2.3 million people food insecure, especially in arid and semi-arid regions such as Tana River, Mandera, Marsabit, and Wajir. The drought has severely reduced water availability, caused crop failures, and devastated livestock — the primary livelihood for many pastoralist communities.
