MansaX Special Funds Issued International Securities Identification Numbers (ISINs) by Nairobi Securities Exchange
Enhancing global market visibility, operational transparency, and institutional compliance, the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has assigned International Securities Identification Numbers (ISINs) to Standard Investment Bank’s (SIB) flagship multi-asset fund, MansaX. The issuance assigns standardized global identifiers to both the conventional and Shariah-compliant funds, supporting the fund manager's expansion across domestic and international capital markets.
Standard Investment Bank (SIB) has achieved a major regulatory and operational milestone following the formal issuance of International Securities Identification Numbers (ISINs) by the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) for its flagship MansaX Special Funds. Under the new allocation, the MansaX Special Fund (KES) has been issued ISIN: KE9930009213, while the MansaX Shariah Special Fund (KES) has received ISIN: KE9930009437.
Operating as a Special Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) licensed and regulated by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), MansaX is managed under Standard Investment Trust Funds (SITF). The assignment of ISIN codes by the NSE—acting as Kenya's official National Numbering Agency (NNA)—provides a globally recognized, unique 12-character alphanumeric code for each fund. This standardizes trade processing, clearing, and portfolio reporting across international financial hubs, custodian banks, and institutional clearinghouses.
By securing ISIN identifiers, MansaX strengthens its institutional governance, risk management frameworks, and transparency standards. The move directly supports the fund's scaling strategy, enabling seamless integration into global wealth management engines, offshore custody platforms, and multi-asset trading channels across international capital markets.
Why This Matters
For the national economy, the assignment of global securities identifiers serves as an Engine for Institutional Capital Mobilization and a Catalyst for Capital Markets Integration. Standardizing local Collective Investment Schemes with ISIN tracking lowers cross-border friction, allows foreign institutional investors to allocate capital into Kenyan funds effortlessly, and elevates domestic asset management to international standards.
From a macroeconomic perspective, the milestone reflects the Sovereignty of Domestic Wealth Platforms and Capital Market COMMAND. Equipping indigenous investment schemes with standardized global identifiers ensures Kenya commands its asset management infrastructure, attracts cross-border institutional liquidity, and builds a self-reliant financial market ecosystem on its own terms.
