has partnered with global payments firm Visa to launch a new Business Credit Card designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya. The initiative reflects a strategic move to provide SMEs with smarter financial tools that enhance cashflow management, improve expense control, and simplify payments for daily business operations. As SMEs remain central to Kenya’s economic growth, structured and accessible financing solutions continue to play a critical role in sustaining expansion. The newly introduced card offers a revolving credit line and up to 45 days of interest-free credit, giving businesses greater flexibility in managing working capital. By easing short-term liquidity pressures, the facility allows entrepreneurs to focus on scaling operations rather than navigating constant cashflow constraints. Businesses can opt for either a Kenya Shillings or US Dollar-denominated card, enabling seamless management of both domestic and international transactions. This dual-currency flexibility is particularly beneficial for SMEs involved in import-export trade, cross-border services, or international procurement. Beyond credit access, the card incorporates structured financial management features. These include employee cards with customised spending limits, detailed monthly reconciliation statements, and clear separation between personal and business expenditures. Such tools enhance transparency, strengthen internal financial controls, and support better governance practices within growing enterprises. The launch signals continued innovation in Kenya’s banking sector, where financial institutions are increasingly tailoring products to support the country’s vibrant SME ecosystem. Why This Matters Expands access to structured working capital for SMEs Strengthens expense transparency and financial discipline Supports cross-border trade through dual-currency functionality Opportunity Sector Banking, SME Finance, Digital Payments, Trade & Enterprise Growth Follow @MotoSeenAfrica for more updates on business, trade, investments, opportunities and economic growth across Africa.
