Sunbeth Global Concepts Expands Ghana Operations to Drive Agricultural Value Addition and Bilateral Trade

Sunbeth Global Concepts, a leading African agricultural commodity trading and export company founded in Nigeria in 2017, has officially strengthened its presence in Ghana. This strategic move aims to deepen intra-African trade, expand regional partnerships, and promote greater value addition across the continent. Known as a major exporter of cocoa, cashew, soybeans, and sesame seeds, Sunbeth operates across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, shipping more than 200,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans and 60,000 metric tonnes of cashew nuts annually to international markets and major confectionery manufacturers.

The expansion follows a landmark milestone in which Sunbeth became the first Nigerian company in decades to secure a licence from the Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company, known as CMC Ghana. This regulatory clearance allows the firm to source Ghana premium cocoa beans directly for international markets, reinforcing Ghana-Nigeria trade relations. Managing Director Olasunkanmi Owoyemi noted that the development reflects a shared vision for collaborative regional value chains, responsible sourcing, and long-term economic investment across West Africa.

Beyond commodity exports, Sunbeth is investing significantly in continental agro-processing capacity. The company is currently constructing a 70,000-metric-tonne cocoa processing facility alongside an 80,000-metric-tonne cashew processing plant, both scheduled for commissioning in the first half of 2027. These industrial projects form the core of the company transition from raw exports toward industrial-scale value addition, aiming to drive sustainable job creation and strengthen agricultural value chains throughout the region.

Ghana remains a globally recognized producer of premium cocoa, celebrated for quality, traceability, and sustainability standards. Sunbeth has indicated its intent to work closely with local farmers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to uphold responsible sourcing practices.
