Agilitee and Store2Door Partner to Fund Electric Delivery Fleets in Kenya

A new ten-year partnership between electric vehicle manufacturer Agilitee and e-commerce platform Store2Door is set to introduce a fully financed vehicle acquisition model for unemployed individuals in Kenya, allowing them to enter the last-mile delivery sector without paying an upfront deposit. Scheduled for deployment on October 28, the initiative provides one hundred per cent financing for electric scooters, enabling aspiring entrepreneurs to repay the vehicle cost through their future delivery earnings.

The collaborative venture seeks to address high unemployment rates by combining electric mobility with digital commerce and local logistics. Under the operational framework, participants identify local stores, offer dedicated delivery services using Agilitee scooters, and have their partner stores onboarded onto the Store2Door e-commerce ecosystem. The initial rollout will feature two hundred electric scooters, specifically utilizing Agilitee models such as the LoadRun and LoadStar, which possess a range of up to 180 kilometres on a single battery charge.

Operational support is structured around comprehensive training programmes managed jointly by both companies. Agilitee will train vehicle owners and drivers on the handling of electric scooters and battery-swapping infrastructure, while Store2Door will instruct store staff and drivers on its ordering dashboard, management tools, and delivery systems. Existing entrepreneurs can also leverage the platform to open online stores, utilizing the network to manage sales, fulfillment, and local deliveries while scaling their commercial operations.

Owethu Ngxanzana, general manager of special projects at Agilitee Africa, noted that the initiative removes traditional capital entry barriers that frequently impede public participation in commerce. Highlighting the broader corporate milestone, Agilitee management stated that the eight-year-old green mobility pioneer is scaling its impact by merging vehicle ownership with sustainable transport infrastructure across the region.

Equipping local operators with comprehensive technical training builds localized technical capacity, ensuring that the transition to green mobility concurrently supports sustainable long-term economic resilience and digital operational competence.
