Paulo J. Cruz Appointed Founding CEO of African Collaborations Group to Drive Sports District Development

African Collaborations Group has announced the appointment of Paulo J. Cruz as its Founding Chief Executive Officer. Operating from London, the strategic project origination and collaboration platform focuses on the industrialisation of sport across Africa through bankable district ecosystems. Mr. Cruz joins the organization from DAMAC Group, where he served as Senior Vice President from 2022 to 2026, helping guide a real estate portfolio that reported close to USD 10 billion in property sales in 2025.

Bringing a 28-year career spanning infrastructure origination, urbanisation strategy, and large-scale real estate development, Mr. Cruz has previously structured projects ranging from USD 50 million to in excess of USD 5 billion. His professional background includes senior roles at BP, BlackIvy Group, Movares, Cushman and Wakefield, and serving as Group Chief Executive Officer of LandAfrique. In his new role, he will spearhead the development and expansion of ACG's pan-African origination platform in partnership with sovereign governments, development finance institutions, and private investors.

ACG operates a proprietary district development framework named Victory District, which aims to originate integrated, mixed-use sport and entertainment destinations. The model moves beyond conventional single-venue designs by prioritizing asset utilisation optimisation, revenue diversification beyond matchday economics, youth opportunity creation, and institutional-grade operations. This operational framework is supported by an advisory board featuring figures such as former FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura and Rugby Africa President Herbert Mensah.
