The seventh edition of the Tanzania Mining and Investment Conference is scheduled to take place from 19 to 21 November 2026 at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Center in Dar es Salaam. Operating under the theme Value-Added Minerals: The Engine of Industrialization and Economic Growth, the high-profile gathering is hosted by the Ministry of Minerals in collaboration with the Tanzania Chamber of Mines. Organizers expect between 2,000 and 3,000 participants representing more than 50 countries, alongside over 100 expert speakers. The conference format spans three days of ministerial panels, technical workshops, business matchmaking, and an industrial exhibition celebrating sector excellence.

H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania, is slated to officiate the opening ceremony, while H.E. Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar, will officiate the closing ceremony. The structured agenda addresses pivotal topics such as Tanzania Mining Vision 2030, global mining trends, environmental, social, and governance practices, mining finance, deal structuring, and technology innovation. Dedicated sessions will also explore the formalization of artisanal and small-scale mining, community relations, and project pitching opportunities covering cement, ceramics, graphite for battery anodes, nickel, cobalt, steel, copper, and gold.

This convening builds upon a sustained regional push to move beyond raw mineral extraction toward domestic processing and manufacturing. By bringing together governments, investors, financial institutions, and technology providers, the event creates a direct platform for de-risking capital investments in industrial parks dedicated to smelting and refining. Stakeholders will evaluate regulatory frameworks and financing mechanisms necessary to turn mineral wealth into long-term industrial capability.

    Why This Matters

Shifting focus toward domestic mineral processing alters the economic landscape by retaining a greater share of value within national borders. Policymakers and industry leaders must navigate complex regulatory environments, infrastructure demands, and environmental standards to successfully scale industrial parks and refining facilities. Fostering structured dialogue between international investors and local enterprises helps align capital allocation with sustainable economic development goals across the region.

Integrating artisanal and small-scale miners into the formal economy remains a critical component of sustainable resource governance. Addressing community relations and securing social licenses to operate ensures that industrial expansion supports regional stability and inclusive growth. Financial institutions play an instrumental role in structuring deals that balance commercial returns with rigorous environmental, social, and governance standards.

    Opportunities

    • Financiers and Investors: Engage in exclusive matchmaking and panel discussions to structure capital deployment for critical mineral projects, battery metals, and industrial parks.
    • Technology Providers: Showcase advanced mining, processing, and refining equipment within the conference exhibition to connect directly with mine operators and mineral rights holders.
    • Contractors and Developers: Pitch infrastructure, construction, and engineering solutions tailored for upcoming smelting and refining facilities across Tanzania.
    • Legal and Regulatory Experts: Advise international and domestic clients on compliance, licensing, and policy frameworks tied to Tanzania Mining Vision 2030.
